How to prepare accounts and taxes as a small business

We know that the amount of admin that goes into preparing accounts can be frustrating. So we’ve been working hard to make managing your books easier.

With that in mind, we’ve been doing a lot of work on trying to make your end-of-year accounts and bookkeeping easier.

We’ve recently formed a team to solve these problems.

We know that many of you do bookkeeping yourself, via spreadsheets, or use accounting software. And some of you prefer to share this information with your accountant who does tax calculations for you.

So our immediate focus has been to make it easier for you to export and share your banking and bookkeeping data with your accountant or various platforms.

We’ve tried to provide a number of different solutions to make this process as seamless and efficient as possible.

How we help

Export transactions

You can now export your transactions and bookkeeping data (receipts and invoices) helping make preparing your accounts and taxes simpler.

You can do this in a number of formats:

CSV
Excel
OFX

Export your transactions in CSV, Excel and OFX files

And those compatible with accounting software:

FreeAgent
Sage
Wave
QuickBooks
Crunch
Xero

You can also select the data ranges and filter on transaction type.

Export bookkeeping data

You’ve also asked for the ability to export the invoices you’ve raised and receipts you’ve captured, linking them with the correct transaction.

Export your invoices, receipts and transactions

We know many of you need to share this information with your accountant, and the export size can become quite large.

Therefore we’ll give you a unique link that will allow you to share this data securely, for example, with your accountant for up to 7 days, so you don’t need to worry about attachments being too big to share.

We also allow you to manage this link, deleting it as and when you want, keeping you in control of your data. Otherwise, we will automatically delete the link after 7 days.
